IT IS FINISHED
“When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” (John 19:30)
This is the final cry of victory of our LORD Jesus on the cross. “Tetelestai” (It is finished) is a legal term that you would use when you pay off your debt in full. The Bible uses slavery to illustrate our human predicament. Romans 7:14 says, “We were all sold as slaves to sin.”  We became victims of our sins and in order to redeem sinners like us from the bondage of sin, the price had to be paid. So, Jesus paid the price for our sins by giving His life on the Cross. The highest price that has ever been paid for anything or anyone was paid for you and for me (It cost the life of Jesus). He removed the debt of our sins and covered us with His righteousness in order to make us holy, without blemish, and free from accusation (Col 1:22). The power of sin over us was finished.
Now, regardless of who you are, what you’ve done, where you’ve been, anyone can freely come into the presence of God anytime anywhere.
              Jesus has finished the work of salvation! There’s nothing more to add to what He has done. His saving grace is powerful than any sin you can imagine. The Bible says in Rom. 10:9, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Christ has set us free from sin, we are meant to walk in victory with confidence; we are more than conquerors!
